The strangest thing for me about being self employed is the level of control I have over my days. it can be a lot of pressure. It’s daunting to know that I have so much flexibility in how I spend my time. Should I master the art of making souffles or learn how to float up into a headstand? Or should I start writing a book? Or designing the next three years worth of note card and calendar designs? I end up frozen with freedom.
So for me, the key to not getting overwhelmed by my strange daily existence is delighting in the little things. Fresh squeezing oranges for juice is the perfect attainable accomplishment that makes me feel like I’m taking advantage of my freedom without sustaining any headstand related injuries.
And oranges can be fun to paint too. this painting is being turned into a new card design right now. can’t wait to share all the new cards with you soon!

This is so pretty, makes me think of summer and its energizing! Ahh must be nice to be self employed though! I am not looking forward to going back to work! But I could see how time management would be tricky.
just bring me one of those lemons and a Pellegrino!
I need this illustration for a blog post. Can I use it?
